Community Experience

The Kimberley Trusts

Between 2011 and 2025 I served as Chairperson of Kimberley Trust, Kimberley Housing Charitable Trust and Kimberley No 2 Trust, Christian registered charitable Trusts which own substantial commercial and residential properties and operate Childcare Centres in Greenlane and Te Atatu in Auckland.

Mount Albert Grammar School

I have served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Mount Albert Grammar School between 1993 and 2006 and Chairperson between 1995 and 2006. I have also served as a committee member of the School's Albertians Association between 1989 and 2006, as its President between 1990 and 1993 and as Chairperson of the Mount Albert Grammar School Foundation, a registered charitable trust associated with the School, since 2015. I am a member of the School's Hall of Distinction.

The School is New Zealand's second largest secondary school. As Board Chairperson, I played a leading role in the 1998 establishment on site of the Mount Albert Aquatic Centre and in the admission of girls in 2000.

Ponsonby Rugby Club Incorporated

I have served as a member of the management committee of Ponsonby Rugby Club between 1990 and 2011, Chairperson of the Club between 1999 and 2011, Chairperson of its Ponies Association since 2014, Chairperson of its Trustees since 2008 and President of the Club since 2019. I am a life member of the club. The Club is the Auckland Rugby Football Union's oldest and most successful. It has produced more All Blacks and international players than any other club in New Zealand and fields more teams than many provincial unions. During my term as Chairperson, the Club won the premier Auckland trophy, the Gallaher Shield, for a record 8 consecutive and 10 out of 11 years.

Details of the specific projects in which I am or have been involved for each of the above are contained in my full curriculum vitae which is available on request.
